Sunday Joe and I attended the open house at Laurel Run Cooking School in Vermilion where we got to sample some delicious food, tour the school, and dream about owning all of the fantastic cooking products that were available for purchase! As we tasted, we picked up recipes for some of the sample foods, things such as Cranberry-Orange Pecan Log, Chicken Bites with Spicy Thai Peanut Sauce, Warm Goat and Cream Cheese with Rosemary Oil & Garlic, a Spicy Pumpkin Soup, and Citrus Shortbreads. Unfortunately I know I missed other recipes that were out and about.

Laurel Run is located at 2600 North Ridge Road in Vermilion, Ohio, just a 15 minute drive from Hallauer House B & B, and has been owned and operated by Marcia DePalma since 1996. Marcia's philosophy is to make cooking fun while you learn new culinary skills that will excite your own home cooking. Want to learn how to bake bread, make fabulous soups, take a culinary tour of Budapest, put together entertaining appetizers,or just learn some basic cooking techniques, then this is the place to go! Check this link for class schedules and times - https://www.laurelruncookingschool.com/class-calender.asp. In looking at her calendar I see that a great majority of her classes are already SOLD OUT for the rest of November and December! But have no fear there will be more classes coming up in the months to follow so you might want to bookmark her schedule page or buy a gift certificate for someone on your Christmas list! You can also buy top of the line cooking equipment and exceptional cooking ingredients that will make your creative dishes 'POP'!

And here's another suggestion. If you want to take a class at Laurel Run why not consider staying here at Hallauer House after the class and enjoy a little of the culinary experiences here in Oberlin. As a special to our BLOG readers we will offer a 10% discount for our Union or Confederate Room if you are taking a class at Laurel Run. Just be sure to mention that you found this discount on the Blog which is also posted to our Facebook Page.

So Happy Cooking! And hope to see you soon!
