National Figure Skating Championships

It's mid January and time for ice skating! So for all of you ice skating lovers, we have great news! From January 18th to the 25th, Cleveland will be hosting the 2009 U.S. Figure Skating Championships at Quicken Arena! During this time you will be able to see 250 skaters competing for national titles in 3 divisions (senior, junior, and novice). There will be 8 days of Olympic style competition of ice dancing, short program, free skate, and pairs, just like in the Olympics. The competition will end with the selection of the US World Team and the skating spectacular grand finale.

If you always wanted to be a spectator for ice skating at the Olympics but found it to be too expensive or too far away, then this is your opportunity to see world class skaters in action and maybe even a future Olympic champion!
More specific information, ticket prices, and event schedules can be found at the following link: http://www.cleveland2009.com/index.htm. Also on this link you will find hotel accommodations in Cleveland but we want to remind you that Oberlin is only a 30 to 40 minute drive into downtown Cleveland! You can stay at Hallauer House B & B and then take the freeway to The Q. If you stay with us for the Championships you can take advantage of our January special - buy one night and get one night free! That makes our rate just $62.50 per night and you get a great four course breakfast included in that price! So think about it. A bed and breakfast is a great change from the chain hotels so check us out. We'd love to have you and you know you would really like to come!
